HCA – Band 3

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Current DBS (on update service or willing to apply for a new certificate)
• Has a strong ability to work on their own initiative and in a team environment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

• 1:1 support to a young person on Ward A21
• It is essential that staff are able to work with Children and young people, so an enhanced DBS for children is required.
• Experience of working with Children and young people is necessary.
• Experience or knowledge of eating disorder would be ideal, but we can guide and support staff who do not have this level of expertise.
• The requirement is for active engagement with the YP and not just observation from sitting outside the room or bed area. CAMHS crisis team will review the YP daily and support the staff with any breaks/training etc.
• The paediatric nurses will also support and will be the ones administering feeds. The staff member does not need to be trained in NG feeding.
